چکیده
Bioethanol has become more attractive as an alternative to fossil-based fuel: a biofuel and fuel additive gasoline. Therefore, people are interested in ethanol from feedstock that does not compete with the food supply. Oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) major biomass by-products oil industry. This study proposes commercial-scale bioethanol production EFB of 99.5 wt.% at 10,000 L/day ethanol. was formulated using commercial simulator divided into four stages: pre-treatment, Hydrolysis, fermentation, purification. is pretreated hot water, hot-compressed alkaline hydrogen peroxide approaches. Simultaneous Saccharification fermentation chosen produce target At optimum conditions, it can conclude rate 13,950 litter per day by 47,208 kg day. Finally, economic feasibility also evaluated under techno-economic analysis. From perspective, net present value (NPV), internal return (IRR), payback period (PBP) equate 9.016 M USD, 15%, seven years, respectively, based on 20 years life total capital investment 12.32 USD. The results show profitable.

Utilization of oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) for bioethanol production with crude cellulase cocktails from locally isolated fungi was studied. Enzymatic saccharification of alkaline pretreated OPEFB was done using different cellulase enzyme preparations. Crude cellulase cocktails from Trichoderma asperellum UPM1 and Aspergillus fumigatus UPM2 produced 8.37 g/L reducing sugars with 0.17 g/g...
متن کاملMicrostructure Modelling of Silica Bodies from Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (OPEFB) Fibres
Investigating the mechanical behaviour of silica bodies in oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) is important to improve the process of silica body removal. This study will assist in providing an understanding of the role of OPEFB as a bioresource material for the bioconversion process. The microstructure of silica bodies/protrusions on the OPEFB fibre surface was modelled using the finite eleme...
متن کاملSynthesis and Characterization of Cellulose Acetate from TCF Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch Pulp
Cellulose acetate (CA) was successfully synthesized by the acetylation of TCF cellulose pulp from oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) at room temperature, using acetic anhydride as the acetylating agent and acetic acid as the solvent in the presence of sulfuric acid/sodium bisulfate as catalysts. Degree of substitution (DS) was controlled by the variables of acetylation time and acetic anhydri...
متن کاملProduction and purification of xylooligosaccharides from oil palm empty fruit bunch fibre by a non-isothermal process.
Oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) fibre, a by-product generated from non-woody, tropical perennial oil palm crop was evaluated for xylooligosaccharides (XOS) production. Samples of OPEFB fibre were subjected to non-isothermal autohydrolysis treatment using a temperature range from 150 to 220 °C. The highest XOS concentration, 17.6g/L which relayed from solubilisation of 63 g/100 g xylan was ...
